Soundgarden is full of them and I love the way they talk about it. They say the riff comes first, then they apply the time signature, which maybe sounds obvious but I think it’s key to understanding why some prog rock bands that do this sound odd, but these pop songs don’t.

The verses of "Them Bones" by Alice in Chains is either 7/8, or switches from 4/4 to 3/4 and back, depending on your source.

I wouldn't say that "Everything is in the right place" is in an odd meter. It is felt as 2 measures of 4/4 and one of 2/4. If you count it as two bars of 5/4 or 10 beats, it feels weird because of the way the piano is accenting.
