Terry: Welding is great, which was more up-tempo combined with more lyrical continuity. With the 1970's Jamaican rapping, as U-Roy and Alcapone, they leave a copious amount of room for the rhythm to provide the groove and momentum, whereas I-Roy at his best provides more lyrics interspersed with the simple rhythms of the composite instruments. In the more modern music, it is necessary for the vocalist to provide more lyrics and continuity along with the off-beat pulse and technical bass line.

Queen Majesty riddim.  He's riding over Dawn Penn's, "No No No, You Don't Love Me".  Still, well done like Welding.
