On the day of the Black Women’s March, Democratic U.S. Senator Joe Manchin met with Texas Democrats and said he’s against removing the filibuster.
It was a dagger in the heart for those who are fighting for voting rights to save democracy. Manchin said that the filibuster doesn’t need any changes. Also, Joe Moody became the first Texas Democrat to face consequences for leaving the state as he was stripped of his leadership position in the Texas House.
Joining Charles Blow on “Prime” is Democratic Texas State Senator Carol Alvarado, who spoke with Manchin and the leader of Black Voters Matter, LaTosha Brown, who took part in the march.
