Thank Capt. I use that on offshore trips along with a double snell rig. Great Video as usual.

Another huge advantage to snelling the hook is that it completely eliminates the ability for the hook to move around like it would on, say a loop knot or uni knot. One of my favorite rigs for tarpon is a octopus-style snelled circle hook rigged through the nose of a weightless soft plastic jerkshad with a CPS ring screwed into the nose of the bait.

Capt ca have you seen power snell it uses tag of line to cousin were eye of hook is formed it used for light leader and large circle hooks for tuna. Think it was invited by a mustad employee, also accurate fishing reel has a video on youtube.

Almost every Youtube video tutorial of the snell knot has the main line entering/leaving the hook eye on the opposite side from the way you are tying it. That way as the line is pulled tight it will drive the hook point in to the mouth of the fish. Is there a reason you doing it different?
