Hey! I’m a photographer specialising in cycling/outdoors (product, fashion and lifestyle more than sports and races) and I work with a GFX50. I wouldn’t trade it with anything else to be honest, in terms of image quality and the kind of interaction you have with the camera. Plus in my industry using medium format is super rare and I noticed it gives me an advantage with clients etc

100% agreed about 1 or 2 film simulations that's a complete throwback. While I like the simulations they have now, there's something missing when I look at images of the past that my dad took of my family in the 80s and 90s. Give me that option because it's different from the others they currently have on their bodies!!

If they keep progressing like this I’d sell my whole kit and just have a single GFX camera

Intro gave me literally chills. Depth of those images on my OLED 4K TV, playing this video in 4K... Can't even imagine raw files. MAN THIS IS CRAZY. Keep posting more about GFX100 II.

I’m a pro and shoot basically everything on my 50sii. I don’t do sports, but do weddings, editorial portraits, product photography, and travel/street. I have used it while in a massive storm in Iceland all the way to my studio and I never really have any complaints. The 50 series is significantly slower in focusing than even the past 100 series so I can’t imagine a scenario where I’d have issues. I had a chance to shoot it for a few minutes before launch and it was waaaayy faster than my camera so I have no doubts it’s great. I think the biggest benefit for me is I can bring one body and something like the incredible 55mm 1.7 and just crop as needed. I regularly shoot on only that combo and have excellent results. The colors in cam look fantastic which makes me more confident to show my clients at shoots also. That’s a massive plus for me coming from Sony. The end result is really great but you can get very similar looks in full frame. It’s definitely noticeably better to my eyes, and I’ve had clients comment how they noticed I stepped up my gear which makes me think it’s worth something. So yeah all in all, I’m 100% team GFX if you can afford the cost and a little extra weight.

I’ve used the GFX system since the day it came out(switching from the Hasselblad Digital line) as a commercial automotive photographer. I am still using the original 1009 I’ve taken enough photos with it the shutter broke 😅) and find that camera to be the best camera I’ve ever used in over 20years of photographing cars………..super excited for what the new version brings to the table.

Probably one of the best reviews of this camera on the Internet. I am a GFX photographer And really, I wouldn’t see myself using any other system. It’s a mix of the image quality in depth, the colour science and simply the way the camera works and forces you to operate and produce images in a much more deliberate way than any other small format camera.
The decisive moment is not there to be obliterated by 120 FPS but to be enjoyed and made the most out of. I feel my Fujifilm allows me not just to get the best out of the situation, but also to enjoy the situation while I’m in it.

Absolutely beautiful photos. I agree that I’d like to see more film simulations. Thanks for showing us the system!

Thanks for the nice video on this camera. I am a GFX100s shooter myself and really like this camera. Like you said, if you don't need speed but like incredible image quality this 102 megapixel sensor with 16 bit colour is at the top of the line. As for focus speed, I am not sure whether the 55mm f1.7 is the best for this as it uses the stepping motors (also found in the 80mm f1.7). The Fuji lenses with linear motor (LM designation in the lens name) are notably faster focussing (e.g. 23mm f4, 110mm f2 and 250mm f4). The Fuji GF glass is high quality, but aimed at photography, and not really good for hybrid use.

I am a PhaseOne XF user, and 90% or more of my use is on a tripod. The remaining 10% of use is in optimal conditions for be handheld. While there a several reasons currently why I would not go switch to the Fuji, the most important is that PhaseOne has / uses leaf-shutter lenses, and Fuji does not. If I was new to medium format, and my use case did not require leaf-shutter lenses, I would go with the Fuji medium format.

Why is this video soo calming so relaxing and makes me wanna just go out and start shooting whatever I see
I kept smiling the whole video. Great photos, the depth of field and the transition from out of focus to in focus, the colours the music. God I love photography.
Great great video
Definitely gonna watch it again❤️

Edit: goosebumps at the end of the video
Love your work man

One of the best overviews on this camera I've seen so far!

Tyler just to be clear. The camera is not suitable for any sport and any picture with subject in movement? I can't see any good photo in the people walking, is that slow AF the problem?

I work professionally with Sony but keep getting closer to picking up a GFX100 S as an awesome pure photo boutique/hobby camera.

Are these straight out of camera jpegs?!!! Because these pics look incredible!! I’ve been waiting for Panasonic to release an S1R ii but after seeing this plus reading reviews of the image quality……….I just may have to save up for a GFX………I would would shoot mostly landscape, nighttime, cityscape & some portrait work.

Hi Tyler, I bought the 100s with 35-70 "kit" lens: This zoom is really light and the pics are still amazing. I use it when I go hiking, and the set is not too heavy. More stationary I use the amazing 120 macro lens and now I've got me the 100-200 zoom. In the future, I could imagine to get the 20-35 mm zoom as well as the 80mm 1.7. The tilt/shift are beautiful, but out of my budget....
