We were really surprised to find so many things to do while visiting San Angelo, Texas that we would have a third video! Our first two videos on the area covered camping at the state park and hiking its 50 miles of trails. In this video, we talk about the history of the city, as well as all the great things to see and do when visiting this community near the geographic center of Texas. These include an 1860s Army Fort, a telephone museum, an award-winning riverwalk, and a donkey rescue ranch.

Chapters:

00:00 - Introduction
01:35 - History of San Angelo
02:44 - Fort Concho
05:34 - Museum of Telephony
07:31 - San Angelo Visitors Center, Riverwalk, and historic downtown
12:35 - International Water Lily Collection
14:43 - Paintbrush Alley and Pop Art

Nice to see a new visitor's perspective on San Angelo. Easy to take for granted some of the things we have when one has lived here a long time. Great vid.

Thank you for highlighting my small city. It is a great place to live and to have grown up here. I came back after I completed my 20 years of service. You should come back during Christmas the Fort gets all set up and there a lot of vendors and shows.

San Angelo has alot to offer and really has an amazing economic potential. It has 3 lakes, 3 rivers for recreation. An awesome riverwalk, lake nasworthy is a popular attraction especially during holidays. There is a riverstage where artists come and perform. Downtown has many shops and antique stores and a nightlife on chadbourne st. Explore! Terrain is flat and rolling hills and varies throughout the area. There is an art museum, old fort museum, murals, chicken art farm, large university ASU, air force base GAFB, a planetarium, the nature center, San angelo state park, Springfield creek Marina, plenty of beautiful parks and trails! A coliseum, city auditorium, a national pro rodeo and fair and Plenty more!

I’m from Schulenburg, TX and am looking to move. San Angelo is at the top of my list for places I’m considering. As an artist, I like that it has a thriving art scene. The river walk reminds me of places in Austin and San Antonio. Planning a weekend away in San Angelo with my dog, gonna scope out the city and see how I feel about it.

I notice your Silver Lake T shirt. I just spent two weeks there and used one of your past videos when I selected my site. Good vid on Sand Angelo. Again, it makes me going to Texas at some point.

Awesome video! Great information about San Angelo. I interviewed for an Air Force Civil Service position/transfer to Goodfellow AFB, so I really hope I get it considering how nice the town is! It seems like my slower pace of life where things aren't so chaotic as in the bigger cities. I live the history and culture San Angelo has to offer, and I will definitely be trying out some local food.

I was born in San Angelo and moved from there about 5-6 years ago, and I nearly cried watching this video. I miss the place so much sometimes. So much nostalgia. Great video! <3
