Steve said already over 10 years ago that Serum license is for life. He was never going to ask money for Serum 2. He did add "tip jar" in the DL page and he probably makes ton of money from the tips alone. I tipped $10

Thanks Alice! I used Serum heavily on James Bond and it’s my go to synth when all others are struggling to give me what I need easily. As a former software engineer I can tell you Steve Duda’s coding is the best in the business - nothing else performs so well yet so efficiently. I got it yesterday and was happy to see your name in the presets! They sound great! I think it is going to change the game big time! When I heard full drum sets, complete modeling of such intricate sounds, layers and the flexibility to push our sound designing to a whole new level and all of it FOR FREE... I knew this was a MUST! I think if you can afford paying him for this update, unless you bought Serum 1 for a year ago or something. You should. You get a "donation" window when you upgrade your license so you set your amount there. Can't wait to dive into this. :)
