This is the year I discovered Fredrick Bachmann.

His sensitivity towards characters and his writing moved me in ways I couldn't have imagined.

Reminds me a lot of David Foster Wallace for some reason.

Bang!

I first read 'Anxious people' and I was a rookie reader at the time. I really found it to be a heartwarming story, then 'a man called ove' confirmed my thoughts about Fredrik to be a very sweet writer!

It is a month since I completed the series, and I can't move on from Beartown. Oh God! how how how?? how can someone use so simple words but too deep to cut through the heart. At first he mentioned that Benji will die and we all know he will. And the magic is till the last page we will want that if we can stop him to be killed. last few pages are marked by my tears. Fredrik Backman is Genius. Hope he will write more books so that we could dive in his world

I am reading ‘The Winners’ currently and I agree with everything you said. And also many people have a problem with the number of characters he introduces, as you said it’s a bit overwhelming in the beginning but it’s beautiful how each character pays off so well and how we end up feeling for each character. A clear example of this is ‘Anxious People’

for me 'a man called ove' was the kind of book you forget about, i mean i wasnt able to think of it as more than an average book. But once i started with the beartown trilogy I was hooked to his writing, i reread 'a man called ove' and tbh I was able to to appreciate it a lot more.cuz i could now focus on the little nuiances in his writing
