2022 Apple Spring Event: Here's What’s Coming

Earlier this week, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman tweeted that Apple "will be holding a spring event" to announce a new iPhone SE and other hardware. In a recent edition of his newsletter, Gurman said the event is likely to occur in March or April.

Gurman did not elaborate on what "other hardware" will be announced at Apple's purported spring event, but rumors suggest at least four products are likely to be unveiled, including a fifth-generation iPad Air with similar features as the new iPad mini, a new iPhone SE with 5G, and two new Macs powered by the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.

Can't wait for the new iMac and Mac mini!! I really hope these rumours are true. I'm not too interested in the SE refresh but the new iPad Air might be of interest if there is still no provision/plans for Pro apps on the iPad Pro.

I think the Mac minis with slightly "spec'd up" M1 Pro or M1 Max SoC's is coming in March 2022. And so will a refreshed iPad Air. Less likely is the M2-based MacBook Air. The 27" iMac Pro may not arrive until summer 2022 at minimum. Personally, I think Apple may release a "refreshed" 24" iMac with the M1 Pro SoC as an option, too.

What do you mean with the new IMac Pro won’t be a direct replacement of the old IMac Pro but an updated version of the old 27 IMac?!?

Even though the word expect technically means what you think might happen or what you think will happen, the word still has the feeling of your own personal demands. As opposed to your own wishes based on the rumours and then waiting to see which ones come true.

I have loved the Apple glass screens and the crispness. I am finally retiring my 27" Thunderbolt monitor that I use with most of my equipment. (Thank you, Luna!) I'm really interested to see if the new iMac will have the mini-LED screen. Will it come in colors? (yay, purple!) An M1 Max or an M2? Hopefully it will have the target monitor mode to allow connection to a laptop as a secondary screen. I'm delaying any purchases until I see what comes from the Spring Event 2022.

I feel like the Mac Mini has always been an entry level device. Not 100% convinced it’ll be a pro level device but I could be wrong. Instead could be a refresh with a processor with a bump in performance from the M1… M2 perhaps?

27" for the larger iMac seems like such a weak reach by Apple. Get rid of that chin and make the screen 30-32" and you have something to really excite and please the customer.
