✅Ingredients

• 4 boneless pork or veal chops
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 2 large eggs
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• 1 cup plain bread crumbs
• Vegetable oil for frying

✅Instructions

1️⃣ 00:00:25 - Trim meat of any unwanted fat (if desired). Lay the pork or veal chops out on a countertop between two layers of plastic wrap. Pound out chops until 1/4 inch thick. Season with salt and pepper.

2️⃣ 00:00:45 - Spread flour out into a shallow dish. In another shallow dish, whisk eggs together with lemon juice. In a third shallow dish, spread out bread crumbs.

3️⃣ 00:01:19 - Pour about 1/4 inch of vegetable oil into a large deep skillet. Bring oil to 350 degrees F.

4️⃣ 00:01:31 - Dredge chops into flour to coat, then immediately dip into eggs to coat, followed by bread crumbs to coat.

5️⃣ 00:01:48 - Place chops into the hot oil and fry 3 to 4 minutes. Work in batches if needed based on size of pan. Chops shouldn't be crowded.

6️⃣ 00:01:57 - Gently flip over and cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes on the other side until chop reaches a minimum internal temperature of 145 F and is browned and crisp.

7️⃣ 00:02:17 - Serve hot with lemon slices.

Sorry to say but as a german and Schnitzel Lover - thats not authentic at all!!! The meat is way to thick, must be much thinner, no one would use oil (take clarified butter!) and you have to move the schnitzel when cooking it in the butter so "waves" in the crust will appear and make it fluffy and crispy at the same time.

Just made this with a side of red cabbage. Came out perfect. Was celebrating my Wife's birthday, she was born in Frankfurt Germany, her Father was a B17 pilot during the war and met his Wife while stationed there.

I've always made Bistec Empanado, a Puerto Rican breaded and fried steak that is very similar. Super delicious. Definitely trying this.

Just had this at an Oktoberfest restaurant. It was served with what appeared to be milk gravy. Delicious.

Nice, I know I got some German in my blood on my father's side..from my mom's side I got French and Irish..don't let that fool you though I have like..zero alcohol tolerance lol. I'm looking forward to October cause a local town in my state modeled after a Bavarian alps town holds Oktoberfest all October, I'm hoping I can go this year and experience a little bit of some of my father's side's culture. I love pork and chicken so pork schnitzel is right up my alley as far as foods go..I eat Tonkatsu at least 3 or 4 times a month and it's pretty much the Japanese version of this, just sub panko breadcrumbs for plain ones.

The lemon juice in the egg wash is not authentic. But I can imagine that it gives it a nice fresh taste. Normally the meat should also be almost as half as thin as in the video.
For extra taste it is often fried in clarified butter.
Otherwise great recipe and it looks delicious.

My high school sweetheart’s mom was from Austria and used to make the most wonderful Linzer Torte. Do you have a recipe for that? I really enjoy you videos. Thanks.
