Anyone scrolling down the comments, take this from me - There're several videos on this topic by other creators that I've seen, and this is the one I recommend the most. Pacing and content on point, loved it <3

Thank you so much for this. I'm just starting out with Unreal Engine, and I wanted to make a reproduction of classic Doom's E1M1 map. But once I got into the Unreal Engine Editor, I realized it was not going to be as easy as I thought. This geometry tool demonstrated in this video is EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you so much.

Awesome tutorial. I love that you go fast on this demonstration as it is more about experimentation.

The stuff in the beginning looks like what the Tomb Raider editor was capable of more than 20 years ago. I miss games that come with their own level editor.

Could you do a video on adding material to this as well? I'm curious on your approach. My first thoughts were along the lines of creating a layered material and painting it.

Subscribing for the material of course, but what got me is that bar at the bottom. Love knowing where I am in a lesson

Awesome tutorial buddy. Can’t wait to see more.
Also love the progress bar at the bottom. Every tutorial needs that. 👍

What I'm wondering now is if there's a way to export the map to have as a reference in an actual modeling tool. It would be nice to be able to work directly off the greybox when the time came.

This reminds me so much of some old open source games I used to play when I was a kid. Assault Cube, Sauerbraten and a couple others. They used open source engines called Cube and Cube 2. You could edit levels in-game just like this. Those games are what got me into game development.
