2023 Babolat Pure Aero Rafa Review | Rackets & Runners

Rumours were circling, and we finally got our hands on one. The Origin is coming, but for now we take a look at the 2023 Babolat Pure Aero Rafa. At 290 grams, it might seem like a light frame, but the top-heavy balance and high swing weight make the Rafa a beast from the baseline, and the frame turns back the clock to Aeros of old.

I would say that thanks of having so low weight it's begging for a leather grip that would add some extra grams onto butt cap, and a bit of lead around the hoop too.

The Rafa 290g seems way “brighter” than the Origin, in regard to paint color.. Am I right?

I bought it today and used it. The paint came off as soon as it fell on the ground. Even though I didn't play it for a day, the paint came off in 4 places. Is this normal?

Cortex technology ruined every Babolat line..it filtered out all bad sensations from shots, but also all good sensations, turning essentialy the tennis racquet into a paddle one...
