Movie plot:
Signing a contract, Jack Torrance, a normal writer and former teacher agrees to take care of a hotel which has a long, violent past that puts everyone in the hotel in a nervous situation. While Jack slowly gets more violent and angry of his life, his son, Danny, tries to use a special talent, the "Shining", to inform the people outside about whatever that is going on in the hotel.

The carpet design one wasn't a mistake, it was kubricks symbolism to show how from that point on, Danny lost his path and things get all crazy

Errors in The Shining always bothered me. The sandwich and the helicopter blades seem legit. The shadow of the helicopter was supposed to be matted out of the theatrical release because of the projection ratio of the film. A lot of what Kubrick did with mess with our minds and I'm not convinced more of the other mistakes we're done on purpose to affect us in a subliminal way. The maze and the sheer size of the Gold Room are two examples. There are many more if you look deeply enough into this film.

Just because you, the spectator, view certain scenes as movie mistakes, doesn't necessarily make them "mistakes". One could also say that those scenes were purposely filmed to suggest a deeper message.

The shining is a cinematic masterpiece and is open to various interpretations.The correct ending theory will forever be a debate because it has been intentionally made in such a way by Kubrick to confuse the audience to think on what is real and what is not. I mean the hotel's architecture including rooms, corridors, windows and even the hedge maze doesn't make sense if you google the continuity errors on the Overlook's interior and exterior set designs. These errors make the film open to a series of possibilities !

While some of the mistakes were legit, I think some of the mistakes were put in there on purpose by Kubrick to make the audience uncomfortable. This is a movie about a haunted motel. On the other hand, the part about the luggage is easy. It was sent ahead to the motel by a delivery service. I've had to do that.

You missed a zillion "continuity errors" in that film which are Not continuity errors.
The helicopter shadow Might not have been intentional or Might have been a commentary on the recently ended Vietnam war.
The numerous "continuity errors" are either meant to reflect the "supernatural" facts of the hotel OR to reflect their descent into insanity. We can debate what the continuity "errors" mean but any serious analysis quickly figures out these were NOT continuity errors because there aer many of them and Kubrick was quite meticulous (literally hundreds of takes for one thirty second scene, forever and ever and ever).
