Jack was one of the greatest all-around musicians of our generation, second to none. Too bad Ginger NEVER accepted any responsibility for anything. If you listened to Ginger tell the stories, nothing was ever his fault. Jack was the genius of Cream and beyond, and rest his soul.

Miss your Dad very much Malcom. Will go see your band, any chance that presents itself. Your lead, on "Lost in The City " jam was from another place.Give my best to your family as well.

Jack Bruce is my favorite musician of all time. What a bass player and great guy.

A few years ago someone made a documentary about and with Ginger Baker in which it became clear that he was a rather sad, but violent nutcase.

After the Royal Albert Hall Reunion shows Eric was really pumped up - he loved it - but then Ginger and Jack fought during the MSG shows on stage - and would not rehearse for those shows in NY to Eric's liking - I believe that if Ginger and Jack had gotten along at MSG then Eric would have continued revisiting with Cream from time to time - but once those two started arguing like they did in the '60's they lost Eric for good.

I did FoH for Jack on 3 tours in the mid-80s, Bruce/Clemson/Leahy/Gary; we'd be playing some little venue in the Scottish Highlands and Jack would be musing "we're a stadium band, really". He wasn't wrong.

Jack is a legend and so inspiring as a musician. My only wish is that we could have seen a collaboration with McCartney that would have been astounding

Malcolm seems to be such a fine. It would be nice to hear more about him rather than just his father.
The Jack and Ginger feud goes way back to when they were in the Graham Bond Organisation, a band that musos including Clapton loved. At one point Bond, incapacitated by his bad habits gave Ginger, who also had drukg issues, the okay to fire Jack. But Jack refused to be fired by Ginger and continued to show up for gigs until the angry drummer pulled a knife out and threatened to do him if he showed up again.
The issue at the MSG reunion gig was, according to Ginger, the volume of Jack's bass, which was also a key point of contention in Cream.
I was surprised that there was no mention of the excellent BB&M - Bruce, Baker & Moore, who gigged and did the very Cream-reminiscent album 'Around the Next Dream'. IMO they were a better Cream than what reunited a few years later. Gary Moore not only had the right guitar - Peter Green's Les Paul - he had the right attitude, which is something Clapton himself admits to having lost decades ago. Moore was also a great singer and a great foil for Jack, as they would play off of each other with total ferocity.
But please, more with Malcolm...who unlike his very Scottish father exhibits no hint of Glasgow.

I was at one of the Madison Square Garden shows. It was a magical night.
Lightning in a bottle probably would not have lasted for a year long world tour.
But the 3 each brought out the best possible music in each other.
I’m happy they had any closure at all in 2005.

As nice as the thought might be, I could NEVER imagine the three of them being able to put together a new album without someone getting hurt.
The RAH show was beautiful. But the reunion was nothing more than a remembrance of what was legendary.

I wish people would stop using these blurred backgrounds - it's fkn annoying.

Love Malcom's memories and humor. Disheartening to now know that Cream v.2 could've been a reality but that personality / ego conflicts and emotions flared up suddenly and drove a stake through that idea. I mean, I loved Ginga too but beware of Mr. Baker was real. 🤷‍♀

I was hoping when they got together that they would have put out an album with new Cream songs, but it just didn't happen!

Jack and Ginger really needed the money. Their health and egos prevented what could have been big money.
