Aw yes, the climate change buzzword for those extra points.🙄
Not the bark beetle infestation and complete lack of timber management have nothing to do with it. Must be those damn gas guzzlers we are all driving around🤡

How the f does climate change start a fire. Don't just say something that stupid

Forestry Management has been made so complicated in California - the basics worked up until the point of environmental activist got involved. Cut fire lines around your homes and through the forests, and clear the dead underbrush- turn the underbrush into soil - it’s not that complicated.

A lot of educational videos about wild fires says you need a source for the fire to start. It’s not climate change it’s human error

He has a degree in ecology. What studies does he have in Fuels and Timber management? He discount s past practices that have been effective. Thinning and removing trees with beetle infestation. Not allowing dead trees to remain. Allowing citizens to safely remove dead and down wood for fire wood. I once had a former resident of northern Italy tell me that America has very dirty forests. They are able to remove any dead trees from their forests. We can't anymore. This builds up on the forest floor, providing more fuel for a more intense fire (b.t.u.), making fire more difficult to control. Environmentalists out of control.

Arson caused the Line Fire 🔥. A 34 year old from Norco has been arrested this evening 9/10/24. However, his freaking bail is only set at $80k.

It also started less than 1000 feet from a fire station. Please Forbes do some reporting! Firefighters allege it was to big to fight by the time the saw it. There has got to be more information here.

Had me until the climate change causal claim. Many/most would attribute interference with frequent smaller fires

“Would you know exactly what the cause of this fire was?” That would be a very silly question for a Forbes reporter.

Id guess it was started from a homeless encampment. A ton of homeless camp on both sides of highway 330. Forestry practices are also to blame. California needs much wider fire breaks and need to be maintained. Especially in places near steep steep slopes the are unaccessible.

I stay 30 mins west of the fire in Upland. The air is nasty out this way bc of the Santa Ana offshore (east to west) winds. The normal onshore winds (from the Pacific Ocean an hour west of me) is suppose to kick back in on tomorrow/Tuesday, and hopefully send the smokey air back east. Sounds kinda selfish but...🌬

Remove the deadwood because it is the fuel.

A carbon sink absorbs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The ocean, soil and forests are the world's largest carbon sinks. What about poor water and drought management?

I live here. 65 years. I know the cause. 3 fires were started at once, 2 put out. IMO arson. No rain here for months. No wind here. Why wasnt it put out at 172 acres? No bs.

Southern Cal Edison replaced all the of the electrical wires to safer ones in the mountain communities, it took many power outages to get it done.

A good conversation, although climate change should be explained in a more comprehensive way

How many acres per hour has the fire grown? How many gallons of water is needed to be dropped to put out the tall flames? Thanks for the armada of fire fighting equipment and personnel be equal to the occasion to put this fire out. What software programs does the fire department use to calculate gallons or sorties need?

We can't clear 150, 000 sq mi of vegetation year over year. Yes there should be all tactics from all angles. I dont know about attributing all of this to climate change. I dont exactly deny it, but this guy might be focused too much on it. But he is also saying to focus on the areas closest to communities.
