Let's not forget botox, filler, lash extensions, microbladed brows, etc....if I had all that on top of filters, makeup, lighting, expensive cameras.. etc I'd look bomb AF too!

I was wearing full face makeup everyday to work and I just finally quit. It looked great when I left the house but not so great as the day went on. I tried different primers and foundations until I realized that all that makeup looked great in photos but not when I was face to face with someone. I dropped the full face and my skin is looking healthier and my confidence is back up. Thank you so much for posting this because it really needed to be said!

Great video! The only thing you missed is that these people are rich and have all kind so procedures done including really high-end skin care and all that kind of stuff and that important to say. Like dermaplaning, the lip injections, fillers,botox, expensive products...it makes a big difference...

Also the amount of cosmetic surgeries that these gurus under go. Almost all of them have fillers or botox. So that makes a hell lot of a difference.

Thank you soooo much for this video!!! Being a 50+ Grandma... it's clear most beauty guru tutorials/trends are not the best advice for our mature faces. Constantly seeing younger, fresher faces as the definition of true beauty in our society an wear away at ones confidence. This was spot on and such a breath of fresh air! Thank you!💕

I saw a girl at Ulta once with the IG/beauty guru face-full of makeup and it was *startling*. She didn't look good. Her eyebrows were insane, her foundation was too thick and her contouring was so heavy, she looked sick and gaunt.

I do wonder though, is the point of the influencer to sell a specific image or is it to help make their fans look their best? It seems that by using all the filters and lights and editing, you actually create something so unobtainable for the average person that it's bound to create low self-esteem. Even if you do one video discussing it, there are a million that visually tells us we won't ever be beautiful enough. And that's not on you specifically, Stephanie. These are just more general thoughts. I don't know if there are answers.

Almost all top beauty gurus have had some form of aesthetic surgery, laser, fillers, or botox done to their faces....

Great video!!! This just PROVES the huge difference between so called "beauty gurus"/"influencers" and legitimate "Pro Makeup Artists"... this why I follow and study the work of celebrity makeup artists such as Lisa Eldridge, Charlotte Tilbury, Laura Mercier, Mary Greenwell, Kevin Aucoin... these artists do not pile on makeup to mask or cover up your face...they literally enhance what you have and by watching them you'll see why less is more when it comes to makeup👏🏼

OMGOSH is the lighting SOOOO much better turned down. If I could get All YT to do anything, , it would be to turn the lighting down!!! Omg... that make me realize that I was on the edge of getting a real mental health issue bc of the whole picture thing. I never could take a picture with my front iPhone camera bc I thought I look absolutely hideous and actually not how I really see myself in the mirror. I was so shocked about it bc i always thought that’s how the people see me in real life. I ended up taking 100 of pictures of myself to see how i really looked like and let me tell you, I nearly got insane ... good to hear that I’m not the only one having problems with taking pictures of themselves 🙄 thank you ❤️
