Mike Pereira HATES Jon Gruden!

Mike Pereira is not a fan of ESPN's Jon Gruden. Pereira, a former vice president of officiating in the NFL and sideline judge during games, has called the Monday Night Football analyst a "blowhard" and ripped him in a column on Fox Sports. Listen in to hear what the former referee had to say.

The officials are the ones out of line, they think people are fans of them !!! They always have agendas

Gruden can be hard to listen to sometimes, but he tells you what he thinks. No bullshit, gotta respect that

Mike Pereira acts like he works for the NFL still and not Fox.

Not surprising. Pereira tows the company line, Gruden calls them out on their bullshit.

Troy Aikman on football: "... football players have to make big time football plays during the football game so they can advance to the football playoffs. This is Troy Aikman on... I forget."

I think Jaws hates Gruden as well. They just seem not to like each other.

Mike Pereira probably is a Oakland Raider's fan. Remember when Jon Gruden took the Raiders to the superbowl and then switched to Tampa Bay Buccs just to destroy them?

If you want the rules called EXACTLY the way they are written, get robots. We have humans to officate the sprit of the rules, not just the letter of the law. Those hits were TECHNICALLY against the rules, but they were not directly helmet to helmet and the guys were not going for their heads.

jon gruden wasn't saying it like he didn't know what the rules are he was saying that the hit jenkins made in HIS MIND was a bad hit because he hit him in the back and it looked pretty bad. he was just saying it looked like it should be called because of the intensity of the hit. gruden knows what the rules are, but he disagrees with them based on what he sees

Officiating sucks these days. Mike is a big baby.

Jon Gruden is the only good announcer on Monday Night Football.

Are you kidding me? Anyone else think Jon Gruden is an awesome announcer? I love listening to him.

I think Chris Collinsworth is aware of what type of athlete it takes to impress us. Jon Gruden is aware of the intricate details it takes to win games. I like both of these guys love the game, win or lose it is the game that we love and it's complexity eludes the approved finger pointers who report the shame game to make themselves relevant.

Jaws on football: "after watching 2, 000 hours of New England Patriots film, I've discovered that the key to beating them is stopping Tom Brady."

I watched the game and I think Gruden was totally right. That first call on Lofton was ridiculous, it was the same hit you see guys give people crossing the middle for the past 100 years in football. And the second hit on which he thought there should have been a call if you called the first one, was much worse. There are way too many penalties on defensive players being called lately. There are intentionally helmet-helmet vicious hits and then there are just regular hard-nosed football hits

@deleetmeeh so true. Especially Rodgers

But Gruden was correct about both of those hits, however.

@PinoyZo1 I think it happened slightly different than you remember..

You want to know a terrible announcer? Joe Buck. Let's have a conversation about how Joe Buck is lousy in every sport he announces.
