Nearly the same outfit I use for 8kg braid casting 4-7” soft plastics but I use the 7’ version, the value vs performance is that good I’m getting nearly the whole line up! 500, 2500 then 1000, 5000, I’ll miss a couple probably but the sizes above will cover what I need

Lol. It is all relative. My 6 feet 8 inches UL is under 6 oz for the roof and reel total. Now THAT is is light.

I just got back into fishing after many years being out. Thanks to my last job I got points and got a 3000 vanford for free! I'm thinking of going with a st. croix avid either ML /F or M / F in 7ft. Any thoughts?

This is what you use to fish Key West from Tampa Bay 😂. Put a mailing stamp on your 17MR before you whip it. I've got 10 lbs braid on my 3k size reel with the same rod. It's truly worth every cent.

Same reel but on an Gloomis NRX NRR. Weightless combo. Ridiculous backbone on this 1 powered rod. For reference, by the handle, it's got more power than a medium rod. The 1 power is really only meant to describe the baits you can throw with it.
