Erev Shabbat | Yom Teruah: Feast of Trumpets

Join us for our Erev Shabbat service we will be going through the weekly teachings from Monte Judah. This festival, called Yom Teruah (the day of trumpets), also serves as the start of the civil new year for the people of Israel. It is the "turn of the year." It is the time of sounding trumpets, or blowing the shofars, as a signal. The signal could be for an enemy approaching, to be prepared for something, for war, or an announcement. Shofars have been used for millenia to sound the alarm. The scriptures tell us that the resurrection happens at the seventh trump. It is traditional to eat Challah bread made in a circular loaf with sweet ingredients added (so you might have a sweet year). The sounding of the trumpets on this festival also starts the ten days of awe leading to Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement).

HAPPY YOM TERUAH! Thank you Monte for sharing with us why we celebrate Feast of Trumpets! My husband, our special needs son, and myself have had a nice quiet celebration today! We will be blowing the shofar at sundown! We normally would be celebrating with our daughter's family, but they haven't yet left using the Jewish calendar. So cool to find that you follow Enoch's calendar or Tsadok calendar.
YaH showed me 7 years ago that this is his real calendar, found in Qumran. So good to see that I'm not alone... God is working to set us apart in his counting of time, becasuse He is near to come, so He is preparing his elected, because keeping the feast at his time is the shadow of good things to come, is the 5 virgins who are ready -on time- for his coming. A few years ago, I heard a Torah Teacher share this with us:
The Feast of Trumpets concerns the verse "No man will know the day or the hour" because...
The Feast of Trumpets is the ONLY Feast that is determined by the "New Moon"...
In the 7th "New Moon" on the 1st Day of the NEW MOON, you have a rest, a Remembrance of Teruah (Leviticus 23:24 and Numbers 29:1)
Did anyone look outside on the night of 17 September 2024?
It was a FULL MOON, not the "New Moon" as commanded by YeHoVaH in HIS Holy Scripture...

We have to obey Elohim rather than men... (Acts 5:20)

Where in the world do we get Rosh Hashanah from and saying it's a new year?....Scripture only says Yom Teruah.

According to Num.10, the shofars were assigned only to the Levitical Priests like an attachment to them AS AN EVERLASTING ORDNANCE THROUGHOUT THEIR GENERATIONS. And in Josh.6 only 7 Priests were assigned to blowing the shofars while to the people were to SHOUT. The SILENCE of the shofars was a sign or reminder that the Temple is no more. And anyone who takes that upon themselves would be like Korah wanting the Priesthood also. Would you agree with this? Just a thought.

Isnt Yom Teruah on the day of the New Moon? That is only next week, 4 October. Monte is confusing me!
