even though this ship is more decorated by special flying Dutchman "polyp-like things" and seaweeds (still not enough as for me), I still prefer older Lepin 16016 version I have. They are similar in many things, but Lepins version includes minifigures (including 2 unique members of Davy Jones crew, of which there are no analogs in Lego sets) and appropriately in most cases all rooms of ship are made for minifigures size, unlike here, where we often see windows instead of doors. Both ships, are not good enough, to my mind. Construction needs arc-like ship form at least, color and decorations should be more "polyp-like", what I could see in some unique MOC versions. So I am still waiting for ideal Flying Dutchman, though I rebuilt my Lepin version, but not enough, as I don't have enough details of suitable color.

I picked up this ship in its box at the bootfair non of the bags have been opened and looks all there, I have the black pearl and queens Anne revenge in lego but feel lego should of made one and getting all those pieces in lego would cost alot probably but was thinking of keeping this to add to the other 2 as i never liked the silent mary one . But seeing this video has made me think instead of selling on i might just keep it now, especially the price i got it for 😂

How’s the brick quality compared to proper Lego?

I failed to build this set with the provided instructions. I "MOC"ed it to finish "a ship". Seeing your speed build was proof for me, that you should NOT follow the instructions.. You added the front parts at the end and also assembled the rear differently. Anyway..this set has a lot of useful parts and is thus a great buy, only for that... The instructions still may be a "turn off" for hardcore Lego customers.

How was the quality of the sail material for you? Because I have seen that on some other Jmbricklayer products the fabric used has tended to be very weak and prone to tears.
