Thanks for doing this. I have been looking into replacing the HID bulbs in my Corvette with an LED, but you just showed there's no reason to. When someone can make an LED bulb that replaces an HID and actually works, they will sell a ton of them.

Any update with these video D3s to LED, looks like a lot of LEDs coming out with D3s square bottom and the led itself is on the same location as HID lights up thanks

Good to see a nice video that shows that LED is still no match for HID, no heat is projected from an LED so it will not project light, only glow in front of you, it may look brighter upon the garage wall but on the road especially a dark road, you’ll struggle to see the road ahead.

I threw a D2H Morimoto 2Stroke 3.0 into an HID projector and the output was surprisingly good.

Lucky for us, both Osram and Phillips have not left us out in the cold and have come out with newer and brighter bulbs, all while using the same OEM setup. Bulbs from Osram like the Night Breaker Laser or the Cool Blue Boost. And from Phillips, the
Xtreme Vision Gen 2. All are much brighter than the standard OEM Osram/Philips bulb and in fact are the brightest xenon bulbs on the market at their color range.

I just wanna change the color of my headlights and DRL on my 2013 Acura ILX Base model. What do I need to achieve at blueish glow for my car? Great video, just complex with all the systems. Glad I'm doing research before buying anything. Saved me a lot of money, time and other headaches.

I went with OSRAM Cool Blue Intense(next gen) D2s bulbs to replace my old HID OEM bulbs and really like the color, brightness and beam pattern. I think the LED emitters are a technology that needs much more development before they can successfully compete with good HID systems. The problem, as I see it, is to get all the chip emitters oriented in a spherical array that has the sphere's center aligned with the focal point of a reflector/lens, hence a tightly collimated beam with minimal angular dispersion.

Wow! I wasn't expecting that. I thought that the LED bulbs was better all-round. So I have a Jaguar XF Sports 2016 X260 that uses DS3/35w (each side) HID bulbs. When the lights are on and your standing in front of the car they look bright, but when your in side the car and looking out the windscreen they don't look that bright. Is there a high wattage I can use that you can recommend without it damaging the wiring or the light?
Thank you. 👍🏽😎

I have no idea where you source you LED bulbs. I have a 2010 Skoda Superb with Bi-Xenon D1S set. Replaced them with Darkaway LED D1S (Plug and Play). They are way brighter than the Osrams I had prior to that and no warm-up time as well. Maybe you should try a different source for your LED bulbs.
