So, when you select "Install for User", the end user has to have rights to be able to install software on their machine (i.e. local admin). As this is not the case in most enterprise environments, you should usually select "Install for System" (you can still deploy to the user, mind you). Also, the application would not show up as "MSI" if you selected a deployment type of "Script Installer" (the rest of the process is the same).

Great video, thanks. Question; if you're setting it up to install only when the user is logged on, doesn't the user then have to be an admin on their machine? I would not think most environments are set up this way.

At 22:43, "No less than" would be the same as "Greater than or equal to"

How do you run the uninstall.xml. I have tried this unsuccessfully after creating a .xml file from TechNet.

Change the ADD tags in the XML to REMOVE.

I had to include the FORCEAPPSHUTDOWN property because a process named "perfboost.exe".

Add the following line to the XML:
Property Name="FORCEAPPSHUTDOWN" Value="True"
