O Shepherd Divine | Songs and Everlasting Joy

Herbert Work was an energetic man who never sat still, according to his wife. He was always writing music anywhere he went. This particular hymn was composed while sitting on a rock in the woods of California. He wanted everyone to know what a wonderful Shepherd he had. This hymn does outline what a beautiful Shepherd Jesus is, leading us to quiet waters and though difficult times. We can all have Him as our Shepherd, no matter our position in life. He is happy to lead us all to the green pastures of heaven.

This bleak world is cold, but warm is Thy fold;

I can't help but shed tears. "This bleak world is cold, but warm is Thy fold;" We often complain about the world's coldness and cruelty, yet forget that there is clearly a warm fold with Him—we just refuse to take refuge in Him.😢😢😢😢😭

The words are so powerful, just thinking of how our God loves us so so much that he was desparately Searching for us to free us from the hold Satan has on us. Thinking of the mental and physical abuse Jesus sustained at the hands of the human race whom he came to earth to save. Wow!!! What a God and what LOVE. To think that Jesus suffered so for my sins and how my sins broke HIS heart is mind numbing. This song brings tears to my eyes everything I hear it. Okay, I took my original turd of a comment down: Who am I to mock other people's choice of denomination. I am a Dane and a Lutheran, or this country is predominantly Lutheran, I should say. There is no denomination in the Bible and I only see myself as a Bible believer and follower of Jesus Christ. The Lutheran church sure has many faults too, many of which really is, that the state control the church in almost all Norhtern European nations, which is obviously unhealthy. Still, by trusting the church doctrines in that church, which is fundamentally Faith Alone for salvation and Scripture Alone as authority in doctrines and commandments, then you sure could be saved. It is actually a nice song, and I just pretend, that the spirit of prophecy is referring to the Holy Spirit and nothing but! Peace, and God Bless, dear sister in Christ!
