yep, I was there, in that audience in Hall H when they recorded us chanting "RINZLER!", "DISC WARS", stomping all our feet in unison, and all laughing in unison (for the scene when Clu's minion says "not that" when Sam asks what's this for? and hold the light cycle baton like a light saber hilt

Disney bought Marvel & Star Wars which took Disney's focus off Tron & subsequently shelved the project for the easy money.

Listening to the soundtrack today literally one of the greatest films ever made

When I was working my local chain theatre, I was so hyped for this movie; getting the soundtrack to play in the IMAX before the show (IMAX had no preshow reel so it was open to playing anything we wanted, within reason) Also hunting down every single song of the OST (some songs where exclusive multi-platform release) hosting the first movie at a friends house, decked out the concessions cart with blinky neon LEDs, watching the employee screening at midnight (technically a check of the film to make sure the movie file wasn’t corrupted) getting exclusive posters for the film (haven’t found a proper frame for them yet)
Getting an “IMAX CREW” track jacket for the movie.
Sometimes I would wait in the hallway cross walk connecting theatres, and usually during the ending sequence, I would see how much air the sound system would push during last explosion buy how much the doors fluttered.
That was one IMAX movie I didn’t wear hearing protection for, (sensitivity issues) and I never regretted it.
I still have a sealed official Disney pin, and also a worn one that I spotted for so long on my uniform when I worked there.
LEGACY deserved so much more, and while it was in a time where Avatar later overshadowed it for 3D cinematography, it was definitely a movie that was warranted to be 3D.

This movie needs to be re-relased in the cinemas. Cgi is still amazing so it would look like it's movie from this year

The first Tron was unique and used that film painting technique that still looks weirdly beautiful today. Legacy had a lot to live up to. And it did in spades. The icing on the cake though was Daft Punk's soundtrack. The arc of the story was great and the sunrise ending.

Absolutely love this film, there’s not a scene I don’t enjoy and the soundtrack is epic. Totally under rated film. Ahead of its time and the vibe and special effects still hold up to today’s films if not better than.

Also, Quorra mentions a certain “Monitor” if i remember correctly that helped her get to the outlands. That “monitor” is the character you play in Tron: Evolution so if you played that game, you’re technically a cameo aswell
