My off piste Covid build of Salsa's awesome Stormchaser singlespeed gravel bike is complete so it's time to hit the trails for some first impressions and slip and slide banter.

Any questions get busy in the comments.
Cheers

Your friend was always worried about changing gears and you had much more fun. I changed my bike to 38x16 before I saw this video and rode it yesterday loved it. My legs feel great. The 46x16 was too much.

Great vid and love the stormchaser. Single speeds are brilliant. That boardman was my first bike I bought as an adult. Absolutely mint bike. I've put loads of miles on it and even ran it as a single speed at one point which was so much fun. I'm riding it on my YouTube profile picture. The photo is from the Dirty Reiver. The frame is now sitting in my workshop doing nothing. I think this video has influenced me to build it back up. It doesn't deserve to just be sitting around 😁

Are those carbon DT swiss 1600's? Wow, a friend died and his bike was too small for me so I swapped out some wheels and put his Aeolus Elites on mine using my Stormchaser stock wheels on my kid's bike as an upgrade for him. What a difference even with single speed. Just the acceleration wow. I can get to the same speeds downhill without pedaling well past "maxing out" the single speed that I can on my Journeman going full bore downhill. I paid zero for mine obviously not sure if I'd want to part with that kind of cash but a nice upgrade for sure!

Do you remember what length stem you were comfortable with? At 182cm I’m debating buying a 59cm and using a shorter (50-60mm) stem. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I’ve got mine hopefully on the way by summer. Tubed or tubeless for gravel? Thoughts?
