it fills my heart with joy to know that rayleigh was so strong that even decades after his prime he would still frighten even the most powerful people in this world. i don't wanna go into powerscaling stuff but man that guy would probably chew on anyone like they were nothing. the things blackbeard must've seen and/or heard to know not to mess with a 78 old man makes my head spin

rayleigh and rogers story always strike me. in a world filled tragic people who had their entire characters shaped in a great misfortune or life changing event, you have these 2 idiots, normal and filled with ambition. one that lead them to the top of the world

this is especially to rayleigh. can you imagine just having a normal day, annoyed you lost your house living on a boat and the next you have explored the world, fought creature beyond your understanding, face talented and gifted opponents, mastered 3 types of powers and discovered the truth of the world. fate was picking favorites at the time

Oh, Rayleigh's house was DEFINITELY the Roger Pirates' first ship. I'm pretty sure half the reason Roger asked Rayleigh to join is because he had a boat and Roger needed one! 😅

The "Dark King" was literally the guy who could have became the next Pirate King from the darkness (behind the curtains), but he chose not to do it. He lost Roger. Roger was probably his compass.

Rayleigh spent the first year and a half to teach Luffy the basics of Haki. After Luffy mastered them enough, Rayleigh left him alone for the remaining half year to finish his training. It was during these two years that he developed Gear 4 to deal with the tougher animals. Rayleigh teach luffy 1 and a half years, not 6 month, he leave luffy for 6 month. also, there's two straw hat in 11:31

Copper is the most pratical of those 3! Yeah Gold makes your computer go good and Silver is a fantastic addition to any kids' pen collections, but Copper! Oh boy. The electricians dream metal! So abundant! So malleable! So ingrained in all of our lives that most people don't know that your outlets are connected by copper wires.
I mean, there's aluminum too, but he's the lightweight brother with a serious learning disorder. We all love him, but he's sometimes hard to work with and after a hard day we'd prefer the comfort of good 'ol Copper.

I love that Luffy got mentored by the right-hand of the former Pirate King himself. If that's not setting you up for greatness, I don't know what is. (though it helps that Luffy's got a lot of ingenuity himself when it comes to fighting)
