Damon Albarn of Gorillaz (and Blur) fame responds to claims he wouldn't allow Gorillaz music on the hit TV series 'Glee'.

q is a magazine show that’s unpredictable in the best sense - proud to be “a wild mix of culture by way of Canada” as described by the New York Times. The Globe & Mail noted the show’s “raging popularity across a variety of platforms -- podcasts, television, websites, satellite radio, terrestrial radio, and occasional live remote broadcasts."

Man, Damon's face when he was asked about Glee is just priceless

That's why he and Noel Gallagher became friends in the end after all. They might disagree on many points but they still stay true to their artistic values..

FUCK, his voice has BASS!

When he sings, he's beautiful, when he talks, he's a BEAST.

Interviewer: "It costs you in the pocketbook to say things like that"

Albarn: "Oh, so what?"

He is a God

For all the people saying that the interviewer is a tool or an idiot or whatever for trying to say it'd be a good idea for artists to have their music on Glee, it's called playing the devil's advocate. He's presenting questions that people who WOULD have their music on Glee would probably ask. The question would be a lot less interesting if it's just the both of them agreeing with each other, saying, "Yeah, Glee's stupid and pointless."

The thing I love about Damon's interviews is that he goes straight to the point and doesn't screw around with semantics. He's quit the honest mench!

"it's a homogenization of everything which will ultimately lead to... emptiness."

Glee is an abomination. I don't know how Fox turned such an imbecilic concept into a widely viewed show...the cast butchers good music! Damon was in the right for saying this...

He's obviously not into the whole corporate shenanigans, and he's rightly to do so.

Damon is such a true artist...a purist at heart. I can see in his eyes that he misses "the good old days" of the nineties when bands were pouring their heart and soul into heavy and emotive lyrics.

I persoanlly liked Glee. I understand what Ryan Murphy's vision for the show was intended for. He was basically trying to do his own version of Fame High School. But I do agree they should have hired song writers and do original songs. They did a few original songs on the show. But not enough.

But at the end of the day Damon owns the rights to songs by Blur and Gurilliaz and he can do whatever he wants with his music. He should be in control, so power to him.
