DC Comics November solicitations are in and I gotta be honest it doesn’t look promising from my vantage point. I’ve been saying for a while now, DC is moving towards a publishing approach much closer to Marvel and it really starts taking hold in November.

DC Comics are nearly doubling their slate of debut issues from October to November with count em 13 big #1’s. 13 new #1 issues isn’t quite Marvel territory yet but DC is quickly moving there.

DC Comics is cutting their Batman related titles back from 21 to 17 in November. 6 Batman comics have Year of the Villain tie-ins including Detective Comics, Catwoman, Nightwing, Red Hood and Batman and the Outsiders.
City of Bane continues pushing towards the end of Tom King’s run on the flagship Batman series. Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s Batman: Last Knight on Earth #3 ends their longstanding collaboration with the Dark Knight.

Joker takes a huge step-back in November after the release of Warner Bros. Joker film in October. However DC continues pushing Harley Quinn very heavily in advance of Warner Bros. Birds of Prey film. They release 4 Harley Quinn led books including 1 Year of the Villain tie-in.

DC is releasing 8 new Superman related titles including 4 Year of the Villain tie-ins and that doesn’t include Joshua Williamson’s Batman/Superman. Superman, Action Comics, Supergirl and Supergirl Annual are all related to DC’s big line-wide event.

DC Comics starts flooding Black Label with a Mississippi River’s worth of mediocrity in November with 15 comics. Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo represent the initial promise and ultimate end of Black Label with Last Knight on Earth #3. Jeff Lemire’s The Question miniseries is being published in prestige format and runs $7 for the first of 4 issues. Neil Gaiman’s Sandman Universe, Joe Hill’s Hill House Comics and Gerard Way’s Young Animal are all releasing under Black Label.

DC Comics is overwhelmed by Scott Snyder’s latest “biggest idea of all-times” Year of the Villain. The publisher features no less than 23 comics spinning out of or tying into events started in the pages of Snyder’s Batman Who Lols. The event’s flagship title Batman/Superman #4 is led by Joshua Williamson and David Marquez.

Brian Michael Bendis’ event book Event Leviathan limps to the finish line, releasing the series finale in November. This title has to be considered a huge disappointment in terms of sales and customer reception.

There are several special issues releasing in November including the comic book I’m most interested in. Sean Murphy’s Curse of the White Knight takes the month off but his first ever standalone Murphyverse title, Batman: White Knight Presents Von Freeze, releases. Tim Seeley is penning Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Blackest Night while James Tynion IV scribes Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Infinite Crisis.

5 vintage reprints are scheduled for release including 4 DC Dollar Comics. Very famous and controversial Green Lantern #85 is releasing in facsimile edition for $4.

DC Comics are quickly becoming Marvel 2.0. They’re doubling the #1 issues. They may very well be rebooting The Green Lantern after 12 issues with the exact same creative team. Speaking of Lanterns the cast of humans has grown out of control as DC fills the ranks with so much diversity it makes Axel Alonso blush. They’re also releasing a litany of premium priced books in November. Sina Grace is taking the Brian Michael Bendis pipeline to DC Comics to join fellow writers G Willow Wilson, Matt Fraction, Jody houser and Kelly Sue DeConnick, among others. DC leadership are flooding their titles with untested YA authors like Kami Garcia and N.K. Jemisin.

DC is on the clock for me . Not the Doomsday Clock as that would mean I'd be around forever waiting for it to finish ! It's obvious that DC has made the decision to craft an entirely new audience and that audience does NOT include me . Allowing Brian Michael Bendis to completely take over the direction of the company and bring in anyone he wants to chronicle it has provided THIS long time reader the perfect "jumping off " Point . I plan to finish Freedom Fighters and Hawkman (which I fully expect to be cancelled to make way for a Bendis Created teen Hawk boy or girl ) and possibly Justice League (I want to see what they do with the JSA), but other than that, I can't think of a reason to continue with in continuity DC . Even the upcoming Superman /Batman title has lost it's appeal for me . I'm truly amazed at how far this company has fallen in so short a time .

I’m officially done with DC now. Didio and his horrible direction and leadership doesn’t deserve my money

It really sucks that my favorite character Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy is going to get screwed over and his family isn’t going to be getting better either which sucks because I miss the Superman family so much being a family.

"Teen Lantern?"
This is EXACTLY the sort of rock-stupid content you should expect from this next generation of creators: lame concepts and gag jokes that have been obvious for decades, but were always considered too lowbrow for publishers to go for -- at least, until they ran out of other ideas. But that's not even the worst part: someone needs to tell whoever created the Keli Quintela character that kids don't traditionally become "teens" until, the age of thirteen so right off the bat, this schtick is LAME. At least make your character the right age if they're going to be a walking gimmick...

that's what i'm saying a blue lantern would be amazing, like history of redemption and a order trying to do good like doctors without borders . we could also have yellow lanterns .

DC is yet again continuing their uninspired trend. I thought with Jessica's Cruz's apparent demise, we would see less human lanterns. I was wrong. The main 4 humans are special and have an established place in DC history. Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz feel extraneous. Also, in Dark Multverse Blackest Night, the cover looks like a generic zombie story. I hope the actual story has the riveting themes of confrontation from the past in the form in the form of Black Lanterns like the original. It's sad how dull a company that has inspired even some of Marvel's creation has become.

It really is no wonder DC and Marvel are bout to close their doors ... How hard is it to hire competent writers and artists ? Not as hard as the big 2 make it seem ...

As a DC fan, i am sad disgusted and disappointed.
I want to go to the nearest store to buy a rope and stool.
Until bendis and didio are gone, good bye cruel world.

There is one of four reasons why I don't like Scott Snyder's Batman: The Batman Who Laughs. If you're to say "ZnYdEr iZ BeTtEr ThAn kInG", just do yourself a favor and think of something better lol.

I read this a few days ago and I must say, this is the same as the last months, I don't care about "Year of the villain", "Leviathan" and "Dark Multiverse" or how they gonna affect or change DC characters, I only wish Rebirth and Doomsday Clock story lines to return (when they crushed Marvel).
So yeah, I'm not hyped with DC series, why would I be? unfortunately, we are at a point where they don't care what their readers want, even if they end up burying DC, they did not learn anything when they had to cancel half of their series... Rob Liefeld was right.

My brain hopes they nail the coloring on Absolute Swamp Thing. My checkbook hopes they butcher it.

What's your opinion on She-Ra And The Princesses of Power and the latest teaser from Kevin Smith who's preparing a new Masters Of the Universe followup for Netflix?

The Lemire written Question book looks interesting. But $7 1st issue like Marvel does blows. So nope. And Far Sector looks interesting to me. The Lantern as the O in sector is neat enough. But I also like Star Trek V so what the hell do I know. Love the channel.

Heman, the Question and Last God are the 3 that have my interest. The rest of the new releases hold little interest to me.
