I love your channel because you are honest and forthright about everything, telling it as it is. I have some suggestions for improvement. Upgrade your camera equipment to 4K and 60 frames per second with 20 megapixels and stabilization like a GoPro Hero 10. Get a good drone like DJI or equivalent. Personalize your podcasts to show you getting to (camcorder) and eating at your favorite restaurant. Show us a Mercato with you picking out your favorite Items including prices and uses. Watch Itchy Boots on YouTube for ideas. I loved watching your trip to the caves. Some history would have helped like showing the gold artifacts that supposedly came out of the cave that Father Crispy collected. Some are in a museum in Cuenca that includes extraterrestrials and giants. Remember the most popular podcasts on YouTube are emotional and personal. P.S. don't say right (you're asking for approval, and this diminishes your power). I wish you the best and will be watching your future videos.

I would agree with what you are saying about Cuenca. However, I would disagree about the need to own a car in Cuenca. The majority of gringos that I know don't own cars. I regularly walk for miles all around the city, and I typically only use taxis when coming home from the grocery store with more things than I could easily carry. I have walked from Mall del Río to Parque Industrial and from Parque Narancay to Hospital del Río, and other similar treks on a regular basis. The fact that we don't have Uber doesn't matter because taxis are easily hailed (or via the Azu Taxi app) and they are inexpensive. I have watched many of your videos (y me suscribí a su canal tambien) and I would say that you present useful and valid information.

If you are from the Country you’re going to like Cuenca more.! If you’re from a big city like New York, los Angels, Chicago you’re going to like Quitó. I’m a big city guy so you know I’m going to pick Quito.

Delta and LATAM are now partners, so one can fly from Cuenca via Quito to Atlanta on a through ticket. You still have to schlep your bags from domestic to international, but at least you do not have to worry about the CUE - UIO leg being cancelled and missing the connection.

love your videos man. I have been in Cuenca for the last few weeks but am wanting to go back to the coast for the warmer weather. I would rather deal with the mosquitoes than the cooler weather :). I am looking to rent my own place on the coast ideally in a more quiet smaller coastal town maybe Puerto Lopez or San Clemente I have been looking at. Just looking to rent a small studio with a kitchen. Would you have any recommendations or people you could point me too? Your videos are much appreciated and have helped me a lot since moving here. Your variety of videos is great. Peace!

For me, neither sounds like somewhere I'd live. I would need to live on the coast and I would need the climate to be a bit warmer.

How about comparing the fully functioning Cuenca Tranvia with the erstwhile Quito subway.

Hello from Canada
Recently we found out about the nice and cheap life in Ecuador. What do you think about moving there with a teenager? Do you know families with teens that moved recently from USA or Canada?

Cuenca está mejor cuidada y limpia, y por eso se ve más bonita.

Quito tiene mejor arquitectura, tanto antigua como moderna, pero es una ciudad muy sucia y descuidada.

Sorry Quito es better than Cuenca !!! Quitó is a large city like New York! I rather be in a big city

I think Loja wins. ... for its cultural / music scene and lower elevation. Quito 9350 ft. vs Loja 6760 ft.

Hola Mr. Second Passport,

I was trying to send you the following note but I noticed there was no venue for it on Facebook or YouTube. Please share with all:

Hola Mr. Second Passport

cc: Don Shader
& Amelia and JP

My Hubby & I have been watching your programs for months in Toronto, Canada since we were planning for a second visit to Ecuador and applying for a temporary residence here.

Thank you, your programs are informative and entertaining too!

Re. Don Shader’s video regarding his GoPro camera or similar, that almost got robbed:

Such occurrences are happening.

Could you tell your viewers to be careful during carnivals please?

A Gringo acquaintance from Chicago, during a cruise & snorkelling trip out from Santa Cruz, informed me as follows:

Her Hubby & she were walking in Quito on their first day of arrival from Chicago, during the carnival, when teenagers sprayed them so much with some cream that they couldn’t see a thing at all for a while. Then the teenagers robbed the lady of her phone. Though she was smart enough to inform her telephone company, AT&T (not sure of spelling) at once.

The bottom line is, stay away from carnivals while on foot. Better to watch the sights from a taxi or a secure place, like a terrace.

For your info.

Thank you & best of luck with your programs!
