How Fast Can You Make a Beat OP-Z?

Today I'm demonstrating just how fast and flexible the OP-Z is when it comes to beatmaking and starting to work on songs. I honestly can't think of any other device that is as immediate or as intuitive as the OP-Z, and I absolutely love the workflow it presents. Enjoy the video :)

I like this device my only issue is the build quality, for $600 it should be better

Classic Free Beat & OP-Z combo. Good to see that it was not retired after all 😀

I sold mine because I needed money and I didn’t think I’d miss it but I was wrong I missed it and bought another one used 450 so yes this is a good music tool I’ve gotten rid of so many things and I don’t usually buy them back but OP-Z is one of those pieces I can’t live without

Bro, have you considered seeing if they will sell you a replacement case? It's a great tool and sad to lose.

Great video. You made TWO tracks in that time 👊🏻. It sure is the Swiss Army knife in the portable product gear bracket.

Man, I might get one of these when I have $600 laying around, seems super fun!

I sold my OP-1 when I got my Deluge and the OP-Z when I got my Verselab MV-1 and don't regret getting rid of either of them because things have moved on. I now also have the Novation Circuit Rhythm and that is so immediate to create a song with.

I made some good songs with both the OP-1 and OP-Z but things move on and, for me, the Deluge, the MV-1 and the Circuit Rhythm leave them behind.

Can you make anything releasable on the OP-Z? Doubtful but it was good fun.

Great video 😜👍🏻

I only subscribe to your channel for your OP-Z how-to videos, because I do not know how to use my OP-Z, and I am about to be convalescent for a while, so it might be good to learn before that

I wonder if there's a way to double sided tape it to a metal plate or other rigid material to stop the flex? I was getting interested in this device until I started seeing reports of this problem.

I'd love to get a OP-1 but at that price range I'd get a MPC Live 2

I’m curious because I missed the video where you were “retiring” the OP-Z for certain content. I just got one and I’m aware of the quirks, but wondering what exactly prompted that. Just the double-trigger issue? (I haven’t encountered this…yet)

You know how to play proper chords properly so much easier for you, but I think the sounds a still a bit too much like a toy, and other groove boxers can create something as fast, mv1, 101 or mpc. Well done though. Will the OP-1 come with the same sounds?

Hmmm 🤔 not sure. I was an early adopter to you channel. Its clear that you know your stuff, however my concern is you 'new content every day' remit. If it's cool for you to do then all good, but I think that it would be cool to hear a bi-weekly track or something. You surely have enough followers now to put down some tracks of legitimate quality; and I'm sure people would love to hear them. You could show you work through and still offer your tips and demos, etc. It just might need a little forward planning, as in demo your steps then every two weeks (or whenever) release the finished article.
Anyway good looking out, peace.
