Life thrives in the biggest desert of India!

It is so big that Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand can fit inside it!
85% of the Thar desert is in India, and 15% of it is in Pakistan. It is the 10th largest desert in the world!
The Thar Desert is home to around 2.2 crore people (that’s equal to the population of Jammu & Kashmir).
It is also the most densely populated desert in the world with 83 people per square kilometre!
Because it receives the lowest annual rainfall in all of India, the people of Thar have to constantly face a water crisis

But what I saw in my seven days in Thar reinforced my opinion that the people of the desert are resilient people who create life out of barren land and live a full life!

Whole marwad - thar
Bagad - greenary
Aravali range -world oldest Mountain range
Jaipur - archetecture city, venice of east
One of the challanging climate and diversity
Large tribal area
Still rajasthanis never demanded any special status

And the land of warriors and bold ladies

I'm from Jaisalmer and I remember as a teenager I would always ask my grandfather ki humaare poorvajo ko ye kya jagah pasand aai rehne ke liye mast kahi thandi hari bhari hill station pe nahi bas sakte they? And my grandfather would always laugh and say this same thing everytime "Beta apna ghar apna ghar hota hai"....years later when I went on a looonnng trip covering major tourist places in India, at the end of the trip I was LITERALLY DYING to get home and let me tell you THE MOMENT I entered Thar, I got it all and I FINALLY understood why my grandfather said what he said! I am not at all emotional as a person but I LITERALLY got so overwhelmed seeing APNA GHAR. many pyaar bhari feelings were there in our hearts for our home but all we said was....chalo bhayi akhirkaar laut ke buddhu ghar ko aaye!
