This performance was part of the show "Who's the murderer?" in which the participants are presented with a murder case that they have to solve. I think it was a Halloween special.
The original title of the song is "Hide and Seek", but they changed the lyrics for this interpretation.
This is one of my favorite Zhou Shen performances. Zhou Shen is not only an excellent singer, he is also very captivating. His storytelling is really great in this song and the whole performance is hauntingly beautiful.
On my channel, where you found this video, is another song by Zhou Shen called "Humans are...". He sings the theme of the sci-fi movie "Wandering Earth 2". This is another one I can recommend.
Zhou Shen has a huge discography and there are many wonderful songs like "Ring the doorbell, listen to it myself", his signature song "Big Fish", "Dalabengba", in which he uses a different voice for each of the five characters in the song, his duet with Tang Hang Xiao in "Doomsday Spaceship" and "Cassini". He recently sang "The Night of Ulaanbaatar" together with the Mongolian group Anda Union.
I think we will see more performances from him. 😉
