It's time for the brand new Winter Bike Club, where young riders can explore, learn, and grow on their bikes. Whether your child is learning to pedal, ready to learn mountain biking fundamentals, or sharpening their advanced mountain bike skills, our Winter Bike Club provides the perfect setting for their biking journey.
From never been on a bike riders to those eager to tackle trails, all kids aged 5 to 11 are welcome. Our program caters to students of all ability levels, teaching students how to pedal, ride on the greenway, and skills for advanced trail riding, making it ideal for both beginners and those already confidently ripping on trails.
For our learn to pedalers, as students master pedaling skills in our Winter Bike Club, they seamlessly transition to a greenway riding group, exploring outdoor adventures with newfound confidence. This transition signifies a significant milestone, marking their journey from the indoor learn-to-pedal playground to real-world riding experiences.
Dedicated Coaching:
Our Buddy Pegs Coaches are committed to individual progress, ensuring that every child not only hones their biking skills but also doubles their excitement for biking.
Community and Values:
Beyond biking skills, safety, and fitness, the Buddy Pegs Bike Club is an inclusive community where young riders thrive. Rooted in SEL Social Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies, our program instills the Buddy Pegs STOKE values—Stewardship, Trust/Teamwork, Ownership, Kindness, and Empathy.
Bike Skills Covered:
Tailored to your kiddo's abilities, our program covers a wide range of skills including:
Learning how to pedal
Safe group riding procedures
Modulating speeds on downhills using 2 hand brakes.
Safely climbing and descending (including bermed turns).
Taking off and landing safely on small tabletop jumps.
Quickly anticipating changes in terrain by shifting gears.
Moving the body independently from the bicycle to stay in control in varied terrain.
Navigating sustained singletrack climbs.
Using proper trail etiquette with others.
Understanding fundamental trail stewardship principles.
How We Group Our Students:
On day one we’ll start our bike club with ride sort activities to find out which ability level your kiddo will learn and ride best with. Our Learn to Pedalers will head to the ride room to work on building confidence and riding on two wheels while our already pedaling kiddos head out on the greenway or trails to work on our dedicated skill progression curriculum.
