My son and I just finished building this model. Every thing works perfectly. Not sure why a lot of you guys had problems. Everything fit together like it wad suppose to...Great product!

I had one of these in the early 60's it helped me understand how an engine worked as a kid but the one i had had allot more details that worked.

uh-oh I see some interference between the crank and oil pickup...big problems...

Yeh it comes with everything apart from the lube and wrench and screwdriver

This kit has major parts problems. Cylinders had to be ground open, because they were closed at the top, with only a very small hole there. Also, most of the parts don't fit together well at all. The push rods were way too long! I had to use my Dremel tool to fix the parts before my son and I could put it together, but we finished it! I don't mind a challenge, but this kind of stuff takes some of the fun out of building it. Especially, if you are trying to get a kid interested in it.

I agree. Very disappointed to see that Revell took out the little engine and the light bulb spark plugs. That's what made this model cool. What did they save, $1?

I found the push rods too long, so I had to cut them until the rockers pushed just enough.

Just finished building one of these - half of the parts weren’t even molded correctly - had to sand jagged edges off of nearly everything. Screw holes in the block and heads don’t line up, instructions aren’t depicting what’s actually in the kit. Probably had to improvise like 50% of the build.

i am looking for a kit to make a 1/3 scale engine that runs but come with assembaly parts and a manual on how to build it with all the working components.

What... this is an official Revell USA video, and the the crankshaft hit the oil pickup on every turn, are you kiddng me?
I hope I can assemble my Revell Visible V8 I just ordered on eBay better than this!

I am considering in getting this model engine only one problem on amazon its cheaper and in the hobby lobby store its a little bit more expensive. I am having a hard time figuring out which place I should buy it at. any suggestions? I'm considering hobby lobby because once I get it, I can just start building it. also I am trying to learn how a engine works any suggestion if this would be a good model to start with or maybe something else?

Damn....I had the original where the starter ran the engine and the spark plugs were little red electric lights.    What a downscale.  I guess kids are too dumb today to time that distributor....
