Now here's something I hope many may agree is a little bit weird (to us in the west, at least).

The pupae of red weaver ants are a popular delicacy in parts of Southeast Asia. Let's give them a try!

I really appreciate your realistic reaction. Clickbait YouTubers would be throwing up and whining over nothing.

You'll eat ant eggs in a can but you won't even try your own rehydrated hotdog?

Appreciate that you recognize it’s an ingredient and didn’t just eat spoonfuls for a cheap reaction. You always see food reactors eating exotic stuff by itself and reacting poorly.

In the 70's, dried versions of this were pretty much the only option for feeding your goldfish- interestjng to see that they're also palatable to shrimp👍👍

Love your very down-to-earth reactions. I started watching your scam-baiting but your calm, adult demeanor convinced me to watch your other content, which I wouldn't normally try due to the childish "eww other people are nasty!!" type of clickbait. Thanks for raising the bar, friend.

I love the "ANTY CLIMAX" sign. Very nice touch.

This might be one of the most underrated channels on youtube, it's sad that youtubers who actually work hard to make good content dont get any recognition.

Honestly, mate, you've inspired me with these videos. I've started working to find one food-stuff every check that I've never eaten and normally wouldn't eat to try, and it's been fantastic. Love experiencing new foods. Thank you for the content as always!

I reckon I've got a couple of hundred quid worth of ant eggs under my shed

This whole vid was made just so he could flex on us with that godtier omelette flip. Seriously did you practice that or something? This is the content I need lol

If I may, just to replicate the texture of "fresh" kai mod dang, after draining the pupae dry them off as much as possible. Paper towels. Single layer on a plate in the fridge for an hour or two. Whatever way. Just dry them so you can deep fry them. In 190C oil for 10-15 seconds you deep flash fry them just to get the shells a slight crunch. You take too long frying because you over crowd or not dried enough, you will just end up with grains of rice puffs basically. Anyways. Use it however after the deep fry.
This is only a tip. You don't have to do this but I just thought people might want to try and experience authenticity as best as possible from a canned product. In fact, some people even do the fry prep in shallow oil with freshly harvested kai mod.

Why are you so good at flipping omelette. Can you make me pancakes?

You are just so wholesome and a good refresher from all the loud screaming youtubers.

bless u for acknowledging that this isn't weird in other parts of the world! there are too many people on youtube that react to things with a closed mind but you have never done that and remained consistently respectful. i am glad im subscribed!

Your observation on them looking like Rice Krispies makes me curious... how many ant eggs can you put in a Rice Krispie square before they notice?

Weird stuff in a can is easily my most anticipated YouTube series, and this is episode is a perfect example of why.

Is it ok if I’m more surprised by his omelette flipping skills than the product he’s eating?
