So good to see Dr. Crenshaw break this down so clearly.

Intersectionality was a revolutionary concept in my life. And I am so grateful for her making us aware of it!

I have to do a university paper about intersectionality and this video just appeared on my subscriptions. Great timing

Crenshaw seems reasonable, but I don't see how most of our workers bullshit follows from any of this. Tangible loss of opportunity is not the same as microaggressions

Never ending categorizing of Victimhood. Just keep adding categories and everyone will eventually be a victim.

CRT is an extension of CT. The origins of Critical Theory can be traced to the 1937 manifesto of the Institute for Social Research in Frankfurt, colloquially known as the Frankfurt School. One of the first examples of what has come to be called the Western Marxist schools of thought, the Institute modeled itself on the Moscow-based Marx-Engels Institute.
CRT is about segregation. It's apartheid. Awful, simply awful.

Not me assuming the doctor was the other dad because they're gay. 💀My doctors have been women and have saved my life. 😱

Pre existing schema story: sounds like there’s important context missing. Is it a story of actual events or is it a sort of thought experiment?

There is blockage. May good, democratic and intelligent minds prevail

Till 3:34 or so, she can be perfectly followed and understood, but from then on, all logic seems to be lost...

Did she really just use the term "janitorial engineer"

We don’t have to create new words every other day to try to sophisticate basic expectations. This is just a new age version of old religion.

Don’t forget. All that intersectionality is ignored if you hold right leaning views.

Frenchman Gobineau invented race as an essential idea. Then Arnold Toynbee invented
racism and anti-racism basing his theory upon a premise that the British thought they
were the chosen people referred to in the Old Testament bible, which had its ramifications
in colonialism. Ortega y Gasset eviscerated Toynbee in 'An Interpretation of Universal
History.' Nonetheless race, racism, and anti-racism were formed as apperceptive mass
in the Western mind, and we've been stuck with the paradox ever since Gobineau [who
was addressing the Aryan idea] and Toynbee opened Pandora's Box.

It's interesting to note, regardless of your view on intersectionality itself, that the character of the modern intersectional movement bears little resemblance to the speakers calm reasonable argument. It is a shame that an idea which is at the very least interesting has been hijacked by such mediocre people.

Got a love pseudoscience and the stripping away of agency. Let’s not forget the failure to discuss competency. I’m skeptical of her claims.

Maybe she should have questioned her competency first.
