One would think that Bluto had actually lost his mind when he started laughing with the hyena before it was revealed that Popeye was actually tickling his right barefoot in the end.

Man the way Bluto tries to cut the pole with Olive on being tied to it, it comes to show that he dosen't really care she gets killed. She was nothing more than a trophy to him and if he can't have her, no one will. As for Popeye, he would die before anything happens to her and would always do the same for anoyne else, that's why Olive loves Popeye, it's how much he cares about others, whereas Bluto is just a bully who dosen't care what happens as he gets what he wants. It really makes his hallumating defeats feel all the more cathartic. This is why Popeye is the hero and Bluto is the villian.
