Damaging Storm Eowyn Sets Wind Record for Ireland

A bomb cyclone hit Ireland and the United Kingdom Thursday into Friday, preliminarily setting a new wind record for Ireland of 114 mph at Mace Head, after which point the equipment stopped reporting. In Drumalbin, South Lanarkshire, United Kingdom, winds gusted to 100 mph. Power cuts to 715,000 buildings were reported in Ireland Friday afternoon.

And this windy storm that came to them was the same windy storm that blew over the US, that came from the Pacific. So I assume the name changes as it crossed the Atlantic?
Also, we hear way too much from those in England, Ireland and Scotland about "Why don't the americans build with stone so the winds don't tear down your homes?"
Those strong winds ain't funny are they?
