Spent a week on Kefalonia this summer and already booked 2 weeks for next year. Beautiful island, not touristy at all, no all inclusive resorts, just traditional Kefalonia with authentic food and the most gorgeous scenery. Can't wait to go back 😍

I love the Greek islands. I go to a different one every year. I have been to most of the places in this video. I went to Samos and Thasos this summer. Syvota on the mainland opposite Corfu is stunning.

I lived and worked 19 summers on Santorini island and spent 4 years on Rhodes island. If you look carefully you can see that Santorini is actually on the rim of the volcano and the cliffs are so straight because everything fell into the creator. Beautiful but scary if you think about it. Rhodes island is a wonderful place to live.

Santorini had one of the largest volcanic eruption in human history.Santorini its called (Thera)as well.The eruption also generated 35 to 150 m (115 to 492 ft) high tsunamis that devastated the northern coastline of Crete, 110 km (68 mi)away with catastrophic events for the minoan civilization.

Milos is an island (actually most of Kiklades islands) are made from volcanic eruptions..so the white color, the brown and black are actually residuse from that...and Pelloponhsos is not island

Turk here. I always follow your channel. The relations between Greeks and us are like blood pressure, sometimes low sometimes high, sometimes high sugar sometimes acidic. It depends according to clinmate. There had been a massive history of conflict in between but today except religion we have more common culture and hundreds of thousand Turks or Greeks visit each others countries for vacation each summer.

Santorini is a super volcano. It's past eruptions have been credited with destroying the Minoan civilization, and also the story in the bible relating to the parting of the the Red Sea (originally this referred to the Reed Sea, which was at the river Nile's delta).

FYI the water colour is simply because it is so pure, and hence has low plankton. For most areas, run off from the land (especially fertilisers used for farming), saturate the sea water with nutrients, leading to deep green\blue cloudy water as plankton proliferates. Greece has low rainfall, and hence much less nutrients are washed into the sea. I would also guess that the crops in the area, such as olives, do not rely on artificial fertilizers in the way that cereal crops do.

Santorini is a volcano, that whole residential part over the cliffs is at the lip of the ancient explosion.

In all villages on the islands you can get around by car.

The cave lakes you see, those have fresh water they are actually fed from underground fresh water sources.
