MKWii TAS Competition - 2022 Special Task VII:

On Mushroom Gorge, using ANY character on an inside drifting bike, and a maximum of THREE mushrooms, complete lap ONE as fast as possible.

- You MUST bounce off exactly FOUR unique red mushrooms (at least once)
- You may NOT perform an ultra shortcut

This was a solo task, so you could NOT collaborate with anyone else.

The twist: competitors ALWAYS knew their placing as the submission list was a live leaderboard (with times redacted, of course). You may also recognise the task as a past competition, namely Task 8 2021.

Literally over a year ago I found this strat and was trying to grind it RTA, but could never get it. I saw a key checkpoint map and new that it would work. I am glad that people have finally found this! 👍

Congrats to ancient and police for managing to stay on the left mushrooms and to police for using the goated mushroom fence ride at the beginning. I tried and managed to land on the first left mushroom, just barely missing the green mushroom. I also tried the mushroom fence ride but couldn't get the bounce off the fence. GGs, built different

I'm glad to be joining the TAS community with this task! My submission took me about a week and a half as I've never done any sort of TAS for any game before. Really happy with my placement! Can't wait to try out all of the new tasks in 2023!

so glad to be a part of this one considering the original Task 8 2021 was my very first task submission! this is actually my 3rd submission overall so its a pretty cool coincidence that i came back in time for this task
