Great content as always Jess, thanks. And thanks for commenting at the start about the term "expensive". I know it's what Americans often use to mean "classy", but it does stick in British/ European throats.

I completely agree about not trying too hard to “make something look more expensive than it is” as that seems a bit pretentious. And I am so glad you didn’t suggest a very common hack other influencers use which is to recommend buying a belt or bag with big gaudy logos, like a Gucci belt that screams, “I am wearing a Gucci belt, therefore my whole outfit must be expensive!”

I've recently been buying men's dress shirts and blazers from Second hand stores. Really stylish, effortless, and sustainable. Looks great and wallet friendly.

Your comment about not wanting to look expensive is spot on. Just because a person has money does not give them style. Xx

I really appreciate the fact you addressed the oft used "look expensive". It always had a slightly vulgar and pretentious feel about it to me. I like your nod to the terms "elegant" and "classy". Love your content!

I agree that an oversized fit, even just one size up in tops and jackets especially, elevates a look. I am also into monochrome and tonal outfits. And your tip about buying the highest quality fabrics you’re budget allows…yes! I only buy natural fabrics. They feel better on the skin and of course they’re more eco-friendly. Thanks for your video!

I love your descriptors for this look, classy, elegant, etc., they’re so much better than “expensive”. I’m a low-budget person living in a very wealthy area, and the very rich mostly wear jeans, t-shirts and athleisure items, no jewelry, etc. and nothing expensive-looking. They don’t want to stand out as being rich, except when it comes to their cars. At my dentist the other day I saw an unfamiliar car parked on the street called a McLaren. I had to look that brand up, I had never heard of it, and I discovered that the car cost $13 million US! I love my Corolla, it was almost new when I bought it, 10 years ago.

I like the oversized look in people who are tall, but for those of us 5’ or under it appears as if we are playing dress-up. Any suggestions?

For me, is the HAIR. It doesn’t matter how well i dressed, if my hair it’s not professionally done, I don’t look put together at all!
I have a very frizzy hair and it ruins it for me as I can afford to do my hair frequently.
Your style is beautiful! I love the Blazer in the shoulders the most, but you always manage to look great whatever you wear. I’m green with envy! Lol

"It's not what you wear, but how you wear it"...couldn't agree more!! WELL SAID JESS!!! Will be using that in the future! And "unboxing" videos, imho, are so 2020 lol

I love when a garment has a subtle detail that sets it apart. A little lace, nice buttons, little embroidery, a differently cut neckline or hem. Simple but chic! You always give good advice, and I enjoy the fact that you explain your choices and also provide alternatives. Cheers!

Love the idea of searching by fabric, and then, shape, perhaps, as a way to refine search and create a personal capsule wardrobe. Brilliant!

Rightly or wrongly, I never feel that I manage to pull off this refined styling technique. 🙁 if I’m honest I think it’s down to how I perceive my shape/size. However, I greatly admire it on Jess and other women who manage to nail it so beautifully. Totally with you on the sleeves. Always roll up unless it’s freezing and it is a trick towards making your overall look more slimline. The sun is shining here Jess, so have a lovely Sunday.

Hey Jess, all the outfits featured are gorgeous and put together. I especially love the blazer outfit, just so chic. I am not a fan of the word "look expensive" either, i just want to look polished, refined and that I've put some effort into my outfit even on days when I can't be bothered lol. You look fabulous as always 😉 xx

I love your style and videos, dear Jess. I love your emphasis on good-quality items and natural fibers, too. I buy most things from low-end mall/high street brands, but I treat every item with the same TLC as my more expensive things (from wealthier times). I think this is why I haven’t had many of the quality and longevity problems many people have with these brands, I go easy on their items. I choose items that I expect to wear forever. I air-dry everything, which really reduces wear, and iron (wovens) or steam (knits) everything, I think it’s makes such a difference. It’s hard to take YT stylists seriously who wear mega-crumpled clothes and just say “I hate ironing”.

In my opinion more than one oversized piece at once makes you look really frumpy.

I just love all white or all cream combo. Just trying to find the perfect off white jeans myself. Thanks Jess. X

Agree with all your suggestions!
We been having quite a hot summer so far in the area of Canada where l live, I've noticed alot of women wearing tight skinny jeans and a tight black t-shirt. They look like they are hot and uncomfortable in such restricted clothing and not at all feminine or summery. They could really use your help 😊🍁
