The newer t48 by xegecu reads and burns extremely fast as well. And the t56 by them uses external power to program 25v chips. The t56 is quite a bit more money, but the t48 is still around $50 and will handle most of your needs.

You need a PC/XT or AT286/386/486 to play with these EPROM programmers. Needham’s was famous for her programmers.

When programming GAL/PAL chips its not "loading game code" but its loading 1's and 0's on the GAL/PAL chip because its not game code 1's and 0's but what code is it loading? you have to "uncheck" the box for the "locked Bit" so you can re-program GAL/PAL chips?
