I turn 50 next week and my mission for 2023 is getting my CCNA, I have the books and changed my hours so I can study for a couple of hours each day. I don't want to work in retail for the rest of my life.
A quote that I found somes this up:
"If you are stuck in a rut, hit the books, put in the hours and you will receive the rewards!", "You cannot go and work for someone 8 hours a day and then go home and not work on your own dreams!"

I’m 72. You 40 and 50 year old ‘kids’ need not be afraid to get into something new. I’m still working, changed careers at 67 and enjoying my new work. Go for it!!

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Success is a state of mind. I think I'm blessed because if not I wouldn't have met someone who is as spectacular as Expert Mrs Lucy Mary Liam.

I wish i learnt most of these principles about seven years ago. A lot of people have been trapped strongly in the matrix-- Go to school, get a job, and then slave your whole life. Many miss out on life-changing information that could have great effect on their finances. I played with the stock market sometime in 2020, and I was surprised at how well it turned out. I want to put in $90k more into the market. I heard people are making really great returns despite the downturn. Any recommendations?

I just watched this video on the first day of 2024, and I can say with certainty that this video is still relevant. Thanks for providing a mental framework and a roadmap for achieving tech goals. I am trying to break into AI & ML. This video, I am sure, will help put the right mindset in. Cheers and a happy new year.

I didn't become financially independent until I was in my mid 40s, in addition to owning a second house making money on a monthly basis through passive income, and I've also met some of my goals. I really hope this motivates someone to know that it doesn't matter if you don't have any of these things yet; no matter your age, you can start today. Investing can help you change your future! By participating in the financial market, I took a significant decision.

i love how you keep it simple. you don't try to say words in a poetic way or whatever. You are so real, as real as life feels when you go through it, not when you're during a motivational speech... Thank you SIR!!!!

This channel distinguishes itself from the common YouTube tech themes. The messages in this particular video on self reliance, time management, and efficient productivity, are crucial accompaniments to the tech topics discussed.

I wish I had access to this sort of info sharing 30 years ago - and I hope I would have been wise enough to have listened.

I'm 27 and i believe I'm coming to the age of reasoning. I got my first IT job ever (Help desk) and before that, from 19-26 i was doing dead end factory jobs. Telling myself i have time and to have fun. I eventually got sick and tired of being broke and a bum. Never trying to learn or strive for anything. And seeing you & Network chuck- inspired me to do some thing about my life. And now, i'm 1.3 years into my career.

And my whole mindset has changed from "lets hangout" to "i dont want ti waste time anymore. Invest my time."

This video spoke so much to me. Because im finally realizing time is everything.

In my opinion, stocks are WAYYY better than 5% fixed income. IF YOU PICK THE RIGHT equities. There are doubts as stocks historically return 7% after inflation. My wife and I are currently adding a variety of stocks/ETF to my present holdings for the long term. We've started following inflation-indexed bonds and stocks of companies with solid cash flows, I believe it is a good time to capitalize on the market for long-term gains, but it also wouldn't hurt to know means of actualizing short term profit.

In October of 2023 I am going back to school in my mid 40s for a bachelors degree in network engineering and security Cisco track. The degree program includes all three associate level, Cisco certifications, 3 CompTIA Certs, a Linux cert and ITIL foundations cert. You are never too old to learn. I don't care if you're in your 80s or 90s. This is an incredible video that should inspire anyone to wanna better themselves. The only one who can keep you from being successful is you.

I officially got into "tech" ~5 years ago. First job I learned a lot of basics, jack of all trades type of situation. I only got into a larger networking job the past 3 - one thing I noticed is the CLI is only ever used for ad-hoc maintenance or traffic engineering. Most of the basic architectures are now deployed using YAML, Jinja, and Python. A lot of programmatic concepts and pipelines are used now, and the need for skills with Linux is growing. Linux is by far the greatest toolset I've learned, it's helped me understand networking better, it's helped me understand systems better. The amount of times I use common Linux tools on our config repo to bulk-audit and edit is more often than I think I do full configurations from scratch.
