Johan is not even made for these debates. The author never tried to portray him as a genius character or outsmarting character but youtubers like to compare such good characters with a character who is mostly known for being smart. Johan didn't get on screen feats because it would have ruined the entire point of his character

i guess i agree with some elements but also you have to remember Johan wasn't meant to be a character based on being the smartest like Ayanokoji he was only smart as a side product to his character writing. This is exactly why Johan is so impressive because whilst Urusawa primarily designed Johan to be philosophically engaging characters with layers of depth and nuance they also manage to compete with characters that are designed to be purely for outsmarting such as Ayanokoji Light and etc. The important message that i interpret that Urusawa wanted to convey is the value of life compared to the absurdity of the universe and existence as a whole. Tenma being the kind gentle guy who values life and Johan being a void of apathy influenced by his traumatic past and his philosophical inclinations towards nihilism. That's a mini essay as to why I always rate characters such as Makishima and Johan so highly because even though there are characters like Akiyama or Ayanokoji who are designed to be the smartest, Johan is able to compete without even being designed for outsmarting directly. And this is precisely why no matter how much hax in terms of IQ or Physical skills Shogo Kinisuga decides to give to Ayanokoji, Johan was is and will always be in my opinion the better written character and that's the main critical important component on comparing characters so Ayanokoji may take IQ but Johan takes the most important thing and that's character writing objectively.

After reading both cote ln and monster, it’s abundantly clear and easy to say that Johan destroys koji based off of feats (yes, that even includes on-screen) that Johan has in the story bc they imply his mental abilities to be superior to Koji’s, W edit + L reevaluation
