As you could see these houses are not in the price range of most locals. Number 8 Jamaica (one of the least expensive) would have Sean Paul and Usain as neighbours and they are in the highest class there is here.

Many of the nice houses are under half a mil US, which most middle class cannot afford without *serious* saving and loans.
The problem we are facing in the tourist areas and cities is that the houses are very expensive for us and non-residents who are able to afford it are buying them up, make airbnbs and carrying the price even higher.

A *beautiful* gated community near me had 2 bed houses going for 14 mil JMD, last time I heard it was approachng 30 mil.

Many cheap-affordable houses in Montego Bay (well St.James) are old, in a dangerous community or way in the bush. Otherwise you have to go country, the more non-touristy, rural parishes.

Jamaica can be one of the most amazing places to live if you have money.
That's why so many leave and then you have those who have their degrees and leave because they can't get any good job or the pay is too little. Most who are moving here are retired, working for US dollars (remotely) or have a high paying job.

Also, our biggest roads are small compared to what I've seen in the US, there are potholes everywhere and the driving is *terrible* (especially in Mobay), and I'm speaking as a person who was born and raised the Caribbean.

Now I love Jamaica, I am grateful that my family is able to slightly afford living here. My Jamaicans are very warm and welcoming, the closeness to nature, vibe and culture helps you forget about your troubles.
However, Jamaica is not a paradise for many locals.

Jamaica has like 20 wealthier communities than those, Cherry Gardens though🤔.. Beverly Hill, Belividere, Ironshore, Smokey Vale....

I grew up and live in Jacks Hill, but my ultimate ideal place will be way up in the St. Andrew side of the Blue Mountains. Isolated from the congestion, hustle, and bustle of the Kingston and St. Andrew. Living a permaculture homestead lifestyle, trying to design the need for money out of daily life. Fresh air, organic natural foods, beautiful views, lovely wildlife and ecological system. Locations like Greenwich or Peters Rock. Far away from congested Gated community concrete compounds that are spreading like a pandemic.

I am a Jamaican but if you want to move to Jamaica stay out of the capital Kingston, I hate when the capital is being hype up, when the best parts of Jamaica 🇯🇲 is the north coast better communities better everything, the Ocho Rios, the runaway bay, and discoverey bay, and Montego Bay, the Negril, are wonderful areas without the big hustling and bustling of the largest english speaking city in the caribbean Kingston, hop over to Jamaica 🇯🇲 north coast and life will be more fun and relaxing, and remember in every corner of Jamaica 🇯🇲 you will find a caribbean island that is how big Jamaica is it has a hell of a lot more to offer it is the full caribbean package period

we are the most crucified in our life time besides slavery. We Ethiopians have been set up our entire life. Trust me we are but we try to save the world. Then they cut our head by the beach. Every year specially those that preaches about God and the respects all man kind through the example of the vergin.
