I mostly use quarter inch as well. Unless its suspension, chassis, driveline.

I also go for 1/4 drive first. My favorite is the m12 bit driver

Love my M12 stuff. My only issue with Milwaukee are batteries rattling loose while in the tool. More so on the stubby impact.

Love my m12 1/2 stubby, use it on almost every car or equipment I touch.

I use all those same tools on the daily. I don’t have your extended reach 3/8. I am a huge 1/4 fan!

I love the big 3/8ths ratchet. I work on big stuff though. The small head just doesn’t do the same job.

1/4” isn’t just for car guys. I use 1/4 on big trucks everyday. I think I use my 1/4” swivels more than my 3/8ths.

I use my M18 3/8 stubby daily I love it, I always have it with a 1/2 adapter on it and it can take out crossmember/frame bolts and crankbolts easy because of the weight of 1/2 impact sockets (note I don’t live in the rust belt tho so it may vary for you)

The stubby 3/8 is still my go-to workhorse, but Milwaukee sent me an M18 3/8 compact as a replacement for my older 2754. The compact feels almost the same in weight as my Midtorque, especially with a 5-amp battery, so it just sits in my cart collecting dust 😂. The only advantage I see is the runtime and tri-lights. I'm the same in regard to high-torque uses; my go-to ratchet is the standard 3/8 high-speed. However, I do have a long-reach 1/4 that I use as well. Can't go wrong with a 1/4 impact; that little sucker gets into some tight spots for sure 👍🏻.

Did the Flat Rate Master short-pour us? Although he mentioned a half dozen others, he only held up five Milwaukee tools by my count:

M18 FUEL 1/2" Mid-Torque Impact Wrench w/ Friction Ring (2962-20)
M18 FUEL 3/8"" Compact Impact Wrench W/ Friction Ring (2854-20)
M12 FUEL 1/4" Extended Reach Ratchet (2559-20)
M12 FUEL 1/4" Stubby Impact Wrench (2552-20)
M12 FUEL 3/8" Extended Reach Ratchet (2560-20)

Perhaps Mike missed an impact driver or something. That stated, I have been looking for a great deal on a 2552-22 for some time now but nobody is offering one. More than likely, I will hold out for Milwaukee's Father's Day sale before eating the MSRP.

Cool to know you trust 1/4" up to 15mm, i'll try that. Been stopping at 12mm for 1/4"

90% of what I do as a Mercury marine tech on outboard engines and MerCrusier I/O engines is all 1/4 inch
Love the videos keep them coming

Thank you for the video. It has helped me refocus my power tool needs at the shop. What AH m12 batteries do you recommend?

i started with m18 and i cant afford to go m12 while buying all kinds of tools since im intermediate. I have a m18 fuel bit driver, m18 new gen compact 3/8ths, m18 new gen 1/2 mid torque and a m18 fuel drill. good guns except the bit driver m18 fuel is a bit excessive and large for interior. seriously.

I may have missed the announcement but did you ever find another shop to work at? I recently got fired from my job as a commercial manager from 1 of the big parts stores and was thinking of getting into the repair side of things. What would you recommend to someone who knows how to work on cars but has no ase certs to prove their knowledge?

I purchased Milwaukee ratcheting wrenches based on your recommendation. They’re just ok. Too large. Never again will I take someone else’s recommendation. No judgement.
