The biggest town in Kedah is Sungai Petani even though Alor Setar is called a city because it's the state capital. The other mosque that you saw in the distance is the Al Bukhary Mosque. A newer mosque and also one of the most beautiful in Kedah. There's also a university situated behind the mosque called the Al Bukhary International University. The mountain that you saw in the distance is called Gunung Keriang or Keriang Mountain and it's actually a limestone mountain. There's a lot of activities that you can do there. There's another mountain here in Kedah called Gunung Jerai or Jerai Mountain and it's the tallest one. You can even stay there cause there's a resort at the top. The reason why there's so many canal going through the city is because Kedah is the rice bowl of Malaysia. Meaning we are the largest producer of rice in Malaysia where most of our land are planted with paddy or the rice crop/plant. Rice harvesting season was just over when you arrived here and that's the reason why you can't see them anymore in the fields. I guess you guys had already move on to your next destination and no longer here in Alor Setar cause from the Ramadhan Bazaar video it looks like you guys are already in Penang. The Prangin Mall in the background just gave away your current location. Safe travels to both of you and do enjoy your stay here in Malaysia 😷😁👍💖👍🥰😷
