The independent economics organization Ecofiscal is highlighting carbon pricing as the solution to how Canada can reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

As David Akin explains, the economists say this could help Canada meets its Paris Agreement targets, but it will cost the average Canadian, too.

Carbon Tax: The government finally figured out how to tax the air we breath.

Question: Let's assume heavy industry like mining and steel making is heavily taxed for releasing too much plant food into the atmosphere (CO2). Are the Liberals going to slap an equivalent carbon tax on imports such as steel for example if they come from countries (China) that do not have carbon taxes like us or are we just going to unfairly cripple our industries so they can't compete and send those jobs overseas too?

Tax and rebate???? Why even do it? Redistribution of wealth and government skimming at its best.

So giving the government extra money when you put gas in your car or heat your home in winter is going to change the weather huh. You can put me in the "skeptical" column.

Canada 🇨🇦 needs to be on track for climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions NOW even NASA has said also not just the country of Canada its everywhere in the world 🌍 this is our planet and yet greenhouse gas is destroying it

“The European Parliament has just adopted an ambitious position in view of the upcoming COP 25 in Madrid. Given the climate and environmental emergency, it is essential to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by 55% in 2030. It also sends a clear and timely message to the Commission a few weeks before the publication of the Communication on the Green Deal "”, said Pascal Canfin (RE, FR), Chair of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, during the debate on Monday.

The right approach, of course, is government taxing citizens the right amount (shaking my head).

The carbon tax repeal legislation received the Royal Assent on Thursday, 17 July 2014 and the bills as part of this package are now law, with effect from 1 July 2014. Abolishing the carbon tax will lower costs for Australian businesses and ease the cost of living pressures for households. it was not my statement, either

The heat that we feel upon our faces as we stand facing the sun is part of the “electromagnetic spectrum” that wasn’t reflected away by clouds or the Earth’s surface. The heat that you feel is what’s being absorbed by your skin that will later be re-radiated away from your body and work its way back towards space through the atmosphere. Air molecules such as nitrogen and oxygen do not interact with this “infrared radiation”, but the larger molecules such as carbon dioxide and such interfere at the quantum level by absorbing it and then re-emitting it. This happens reoccurs over and over, thus slowing down Earth’s cooling process. This is the Greenhouse Effect, and life on Earth depends on it — because without it, our planet would be permanently frozen over. However, there’s such a thing as too much of a good thing.

What a load of Hegemonic lies. The climate sensitivity has an extremely large uncertainty in the scientic literature. The smallest values estimated are very close to zero while the highest ones are even 9 degrees Celsius for a doubling of CO2. The majority of the papers are using theoretical general circulation models (GCM) for the estimation. These models give very big sensitivities with a very large uncertainty range. Typically sensitivity values are between 2{5 degrees. IPCC uses these papers to estimate the global temperature anomalies and the climate sensitivity. However, there are a lot of papers, where sensitivities lower than one degree are estimated without using GCM. The basic problem there is still no evidence of the man made climate change.

Notice the "Eco" in the name. In 2050, the world will laugh at these eco-warriors just like they are doing now at the ones who predicted another ice age in 1970.
