Nigerian-American 17 Years Old Harold Ekeh - Accepted To All 8 Ivy League Universities -- 04072015

Harold Ekeh's family moved to the United States of America from Nigeria when he was 8. He's done pretty well for himself since then. Ekeh, a senior at Elmont Memorial High School in Long Island, New York, has a GPA of over 100, he got a 2270 (out of 2400) on the SAT, and – oh yeah – he's been accepted to all 13 colleges he applied to, including all eight Ivy League [Harvard; Yale; Princeton; Columbia; Brown; Cornell; Dartmouth and University of Pennsylvania], as well as Johns Hopkins and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Because you haven't meditated on your own shortcomings enough today, Ekeh is also a Model U.N. leader, a drummer, a youth choir director and a leader at a mentorship program at his school. "My parents' hard work and my hard work finally paid off," Ekeh, 17, told the New York Post.

Elmont's principal, John Capozzi, told CNN that Ekeh is "one of the most humble young men I've ever had the opportunity to meet."

"Anybody who sees my story can say, 'If he can do it, I can do it,' " said Ekeh, who celebrated the news of his acceptances with the almost comically humble move of going to Chipotle. "I'm just a kid who had a real strong support system."

amazing video one thing I really love about Nigerians Haitians and Africans is that they value education really really serious and don't have a victim mentality unlike so many black Americans always blaming white man for everything for their failures and poor decisions.

Am proud of ya Ekeh and I know the way we Nigerians do take education pretty seriously despite our harsh economy. The so call Africa Americans boys shd follow ur step instead of disgracing Africa in US by doing drugs and selling their body to white men for cheap dollars.

Black American have been in America for over 150 years, complaining about white supremacy, speaking eloquent is perceive as uncool, reverence for criminality, single parents where the reason for having a child is to get welfare, luck of disciplined. Africans and Asian came to American some not being able to speak English and despite all this disadvantages, they are able to rise Children that excel in education.
