In real life, all of their ears would be ringing from the sheer sound of the missile

Those missiles' could not be launched like that. They have to be launched under water with a combination of compressed air and the water column to keep the missile stable. Also the reactor would have scrammed or melted down without the coolant system working which requires the sub to be in the water. If the reactor is scrammed the sub only has a limited amount of battery power and the when they die that's your in the dark.

They wouldn't be able to launch they still need the encrypted target positioning which is an alpha numeric code as well as both the captains and XOs keys. Not to mention the Trident would just fall back down to the ground before the engine ignites as it needs the water bouncy to carry it up to alltitude
